Why Enroll in Mid Coast Construction Academy?
Mid Coast Construction Academy is a partnership program between location businesses, community leaders, local school districts, and Association of Builders and Contractors Mid Coast Chapter. These organizations identified a growing need in the region for skilled plumbers and electricians. In an effort to bring skilled workers into this in-demand industry, they developed the MCA Apprenticeship Program.
Working with the local school districts and post education adults, students enter the program and receive hands on training, classroom instruction, and on-the-job training gaining the knowledge and skill to sit for their journeyman’s license within 4 years.
Unlike other programs, this four-year academy offers students the opportunity to learn a valuable, in-demand career for a fraction of the cost of a university degree or technical school with several payment options available. Additionally, area businesses and industry professionals play an integral role in the program, helping to guide and develop the curriculum to reflect the specific and changing needs of the industry, work with students in the classroom to educate them in real world applications, and special guest presentations to help guide students through the job process.
The opportunities that apprenticeship training offers include:
1) Working from day one
2) Getting trained in all aspects of your field
3) Getting paid to go to work and school
4) Completing training with limited debt

In the Mid Coast Region, there is a critical shortage of skilled labor that is projected to grow over the next decade. Trained plumbers and electricians enjoy one of the most stable employment futures in the workforce and licensed plumbers and electricians experience a current average starting salary of $23 per hour in our area. Mid Coast Construction Academy is proud to partner with local businesses, school districts, and individuals as we address this issue through education and career development.
